I can’t remember the first time I met Jimmy Dallas, but I am sure of the place where that meeting took place.  I was standing at the end of the Walnut Creek Access Pier.

Like many anglers who fished there, sitting next to Jimmy while discussing the current fishing conditions was part of the Walnut Creek fishing experience.  He knew how to catch steelhead using egg sacs, and he was more than willing to instruct anyone who would listen.  I did, and his lessons paid off for me.

Over time, I learned about his restaurant, and his involvement with the 3CU effort to rear and stock steelhead in Lake Erie Tributaries.  He was a tireless promoter and fund raiser for 3CU. 

When I learned of his passing, I looked through my video files and I came across this short clip.  This is how I knew Jimmy, and this is how I will remember him!
