This is where you can keep track of announcements from local groups and organizations. We will report actions that affect Erie fishing resources.  As information is available or provided to FSA, an effort will be made to post tournament announcements and results.  Perhaps you can schedule your next trip to coincide with the monthly meeting of local sportsmen's groups and spend an evening with the people who work to improve Steelhead Alley fish populations and fishing facilities.

The National Geological Survey operates stream gauges on Lake Erie tributaries. Once anglers get an idea of how to calibrate the readings reported, it will be possible to estimate actual fishing conditions on the stream.

Stream gauges provide “real time” data that allow us to assess the “fish-ability” of Erie tributaries.  Proper water level and temperature are critical for success.   You need flow to get a proper drift.  You need reasonable water clarity for the fish to see your bait or fly.  Finally, you need the right water temperature to put fish in a feeding mood.

The stream data will be in cubic feet per second, as well as stream height in feet.  The water temperature will be in degrees Celsius. By trial and error, determine what flow and temperature puts fish in the stream and suits your fishing presentation.  When you see the right combination listed, head for the tributaries.

Depending on your fishing style, you have plenty of stream options to consider. Some are large with plenty of public access water to fish while others smaller in size and limited access. Of course the larger water gets the most attention, but all offer great Steelhead action.
